Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the Laboratory of Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) web page. This web page is intended to disseminate information on our resources, activities and outputs. The systematic initiatives to play roles on supply chain activities have been dated back to 2001. At that time, we formed what was called Center for Supply Chain Management, that is why this web site has an address of www.centerscm.org instead of something named “Laboratory ….”. The name Logistics and Supply Chain Management Laboratory was formalized in 2006. Compared to other laboratories in our department, we are quite young, but we are surely the first laboratory in Indonesia to have a title of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. We indeed is the most early and proactive group of faculty members taking various initiatives on developments and dissemination of logistics and supply chain management through teaching, researches, and industrial engagements.
Our laboratory is actually a small group of 5 faculty members that share common interests on various fields of logistics and supply chain management. Despite the small size, we are one of the most productive laboratories in Indonesia. Here are some of the progresses that we have made:
-
We have been actively publishing research outputs in international journals, indicating our works are of international standards. Many of the journals that publish our works are highly ranked. See here for the list of international journal publications from our members (http://www.centerscm/research).
-
We organize International Conference on Operations and Supply Chain Management since 2005. The first was in Bali (2005) and then it has been held in different countries every two year: Bangkok (2007), Malaysia (2009), Maldives (2011), and New Delhi (2013). See more information here (www.oscm-forum.org)
-
We publish Operations and Supply Chain Management: An International Journal since 2008. Click here for more information (http://journal.oscm-forum.org)
-
We organized what is called OSCM Practice Conference. The first one was in 2008 and the second one was in 2010, both in Jakarta. The aim was to bring practitioners together to share experiences / ideas about anything related to operations and supply chain management. Click here for more information (http://practice.oscm-forum.org)
-
We have graduate programs in Industrial Engineering with a concentration on Logistics and Supply Chain Management (both at master and doctorate levels).
-
We run many seminars, workshops and trainings for industry people. We have developed many training modules including basic supply chain management, inventory management, warehouse management, procurement management, and some other more specialized modules. Many companies have used our services to develop their human capitals.
-
We do consulting services for industry. Some of our clients include large state owned enterprises (BUMN) as well as private enterprises. We have been doing consulting works on supplier mapping, inventory analysis, supply chain diagnostics, developing master plan for supply management improvements, distribution and transportation planning, and many others.
-
We are actively developing collaboration with other universities abroad for join degree, student mobility program, and research projects.
-
Our students publish newsletter regularly. You can access the copy for free in this web site (http://centerscm.org/newsletter/)
-
We also work with companies to run joint programs, including for example the “ITS & KLOG Lecture Series” which is a collaborative event with a large logistics service company, Kamadjaja Logistics.
-
We manage a mailing list SCM-ID@yahoogroups.com. It has been run since January 2002 and among the first of its kind in Indonesia. You can join this mailing list by sending email to SCM-ID-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
-
Recently we partner with IPOMS Surabaya to run a study group for professionals interested to study logistics and supply chain management.
-
And many others.
Students have been very much helpful in making those activities run smoothly. Every semester we recruit high-caliber students to help us running this laboratory. In fact, this web site is managed by our students. In the future, they will become great leaders in logistics and supply chain management.
Thank you for visiting this web site. Have a nice surfing. If you have any comments or questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
